Intermediate Sweep
August 6 – September 4, 2016
(No program on August 20th, 21st)

  • Saturdays 5:30 – 7:00 am
  • Sundays 5:30 – 7:00 am

$80 per participant
Coach – Molly Dumas
Eight sessions. Membership required. Rowers must have completed a Learn to Row class or rowed in high school/college. All levels welcome. Focus will be on continuing technique improvement focusing on the finer points of the stroke, improving fitness, becoming proficient enough to sub for competitive sweep boats (if desired), and developing enough skill to form own boat lineups. Minimum of 6 participants to run; maximum 8 participants.

Learn to Scull Sessions I and II
July 9 – 24, 2016 or
July 11 – 27, 2016

  • Saturday/Sunday, 5:30 AM -7:00 AM
  • Monday/Wednesday, 5:30 AM -7:00 AM

$90 per participant
Membership NOT Required. LTR Sweep/previous sweep experience a prerequisite. Max 4 scullers per session. Learn boat handling and the fundamentals of the sculling stroke in a smaller group size affording increased safety and more personalized instruction. .

Competitive Sweep
June 15 – August 17, 2016

  • Wednesday,  5:30 AM -7:00 AM

$60 per participant
Ten Sessions. Membership Required. For competitive rowers looking to race in summer and fall regattas. Focus on fitness and technique. Weekly workout plans disseminated each Monday to be carried out by participants independent of coached sessions. Minimum of 8 participants, maximum of 12 to run.

Learn to Row
June 11, 2016

  • Saturdays/Sundays,  5:30 AM -7:00 AM

$150 per participant
Six session. Open to the public. MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE. Learn the basic sweep rowing technique, how to handle equipment safely, rules of the boathouse, bay, and lake. Participants completing this course and wishing to continue their rowing experience may become QRC members (discounted by $100) and participate in any or all of our successive programming: Recreational Rowing, Learn to Scull, or Team Sweep with the consent of the coach.

Competitive Sculling
June 6 – August 8, 2016

$85 per participant
Nine Sessions (excluding July 4th). Membership Required. For competitive scullers looking to race in summer and fall regattas. Focus on fitness and technique. Individualized weekly workout plans disseminated each Monday to be carried out by participants independent of coached sessions. Minimum of 5 participants, maximum of 6 participants to run.

National Learn to Row

FREE!
One session. Open to the public. MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE. Learn the basics of rowing, meet current members of the Quinsigamond Rowing Club, and discover the path to recreational rowing on Lake Quinsigamond.

Shake off the Rust

Eight Sessions. Membership Required. All levels of rowers welcome. Focus on getting back into boats following the winter. Continued development of sweep rowing skills, improving fitness, and developing goals for the upcoming rowing season. Must be 18 years of age. Minimum of 6 participants, maximum of 12 participants to run.
