The sun rising over the water, bald eagles flying overhead, the silence broken by the click of the oars: There’s no better way to greet the day, early-morning rowers say, than in a shell on Lake Quinsigamond.
“It’s magnificent, absolutely magnificent,” says Judy Freedman Fask, 61, of Millbury, who took up the sport five years ago after attending a Learn to Row Day hosted by the Quinsigamond Rowing Club at Donahue Rowing Center here.
Patti Aiello of Upton came out to the same introductory lesson five years ago. The Framingham special-ed teacher was pushing 50 and with her two children grown, she was preparing for life as an empty nester.
